This feels like a joke. The concept itself can not be taken seriously--a formal score given to something that is based on the subjective perception of others. For instance, me being black might be seen as a disadvantage to some, won't matter to most, and might be a boon to some people. I've experienced it all in my life. Some think I'm black and therefore worthless (or dangerous), the VAST majority of people couldn't care less what my skin color is, and a few other racists try to help out the poor black kid because it must be so hard living in the USA (hint: it's not. I've lived in much harsher places).

I understand that you want a world free of bigotry, and I really want to see a world like that too. This is the wrong way to go about it. Literally scoring people on what are mostly immutable characteristics will only be a wedge that rates and divides others.

Also the suggestion that straight people should explore the "wild side" of their sexuality is ludicrous. Are LGBTQ+ people not "born that way"? As it is immoral to suggest converting them, it is also immoral to suggest straight people convert. This test seems to imply that straight people are lacking, and can be fixed if they would just change their sexual preference.

I think this tool is a clever concept, and reasonably useful, given what it was capable of measuring. It is still under development, and, as its creators acknowledge, there are important factors left out of the equation (such as fringe religions, homelessness, chronic illness, weight/height, personality factors that lead to discrimination, mental health, domestic violence, and others).

The tool, itself, is biased on the religion measure, at least. The scale sets a lower score for Christianity, and yet, in evangelical and many other Christian sects, women and children suffer significant, sanctioned abuse within their communities that some other religions would not abide. Likewise, there are Christian sects, such as Jehovah's Witnesses, that encounter severe prejudice. In addition to the shunning of its members by the outside world, the JW religion requires its members to socially shun (as in completely cut out of your life) anyone who is not a member, including family, to avoid bad influences. So, the tool needs to incorporate the bias and abuse experienced WITHIN a religion as much as from WITHOUT a religion.

Nonetheless, it is a great concept, an excellent tool for opening a discussion about intersectionality, useful for starting a process of self-evaluation and group understanding around it, and nicely designed (sliders, with percentages). Even at this basic level, the tool can open a window into the harmful experiences of bias that people encounter, in varying levels, in the everyday course of life. It can greatly increase our compassion for ourselves and others who are suffering under high loads of systemic and interpersonal abuse on the basis of their identities. It can also help us learn to avoid unconsciously and unintentionally enacting bias in relation to friends, colleagues, and others in our lives. I do like the concept of the tool and hope its creators continue to refine it.
