The quiz determines my location which happens to be not an English speaking nation with mostly non-white citizens, yet if I check English as first language and being white I become more privileged. The quiz is a bit misleading like that, since it is clearly designed to be taken by people who live in English speaking, white majority, Christian majority nations.

I think even if you subscribe to intersectionality as a world view, this is insane. You are telling me that a cis Asian person is exactly 3.5 times as oppressed as a transgender white person? Or that being gay is 1.5 times easier than being a woman? Assigning numeric values to something as complex and nuanced as this is absolutely ridiculous and impossible. Not to mention handling every single factor, even addressing the factors you put in the FAQ would even scratch the surface. Like how would being an Asian PoC in a predominantly Asian country make you less privileged, the way it's currently set up is a eurocentric and America-centric way of thinking. Like if you were trans in Brazil vs trans in Norway, not all non-US countries are equal. Then all of these sliders are totally subjective. An age slider with no real values? How can PoC be a slider, race is completely made up? An education slider? AND on top of that it actually completely goes traditional AGAINST intersectional belief. I don’t think this works, the sliding scale idea, when talking about gender privilege. I was assigned female at birth, but I’m non-binary and trans. I present androgynously, but I wouldn’t say that it makes sense that according to this, I’d have less privilege, as someone who presents androgynously. It doesn’t make sense. Transphobia, cissexism, sexism, and homophobia are complicated. Also, being “100% gay” doesn’t necessarily mean you’re less privileged. Many pan and queer people are more oppressed than cis gay men, in particular. Also, gender, presentation, and anatomy (gender assigned at birth) are three totally different things, that intersect in very complicated ways! I’d like to see this updated, to accommodate for non-binary trans folks. Because I’m a lot of ways, non-binary trans people can face more obstacles (legally and socially) than binary trans people. Maybe you could add a scale from binary to non-binary trans, but that still wouldn’t be anywhere near perfect. I like the idea, but think it needs major tweaking

I am a minority, born into homeless in the USA, single parent and was a child of immigrants.

After hard work, i did good for myself. I love capitalism and what it brings. My parents worked hard and got a little better. I followed their work ethics and now I am better than them. My child, is a great straight A student, so I believe my child will grow up to better than me.

If my parents didn't immigrate to the USA, 110% without a doubt, I would be in 3rd world poverty despite my efforts.

When my child is old enough, I plan to take my child to my ethic homeland to show him that the world is filled with suffering beyond comprehension but the USA is the best nation the world has ever seen. So much is offered in the USA, I am a proud American.

My score as a middle class, white, Christian women is 24. Beyoncé as a very rich woman do colour scores around 48. Seems to me I am not the one who shut down the Louvre for a day so my 4 year old daughter could experience it without them being disturbed. Ask yourself who has the privilege here. I love how all the people criticizing this have <20 points. Reminds me of that social experiment where if you have a bucket in a classroom and score the students on whether they’re able to throw a ball into it from where they’re sitting, the kids sitting further away from the bucket will realize it’s unfair because of the unequal distances but the kids sitting closer won’t.
Being privileged isn’t a crime and you shouldn’t feel uncomfortable when it’s pointed out. No reason to feel guilty, but just be aware of it, especially before criticizing people less successful than you who may’ve faced obstacles that you never had to deal with.
