I got 27. Quick question how does being female mean you have less privilege in a country like America? The test also fails to account that living in the UK vs America has no difference in “privilege”. It also says being between male and female somehow equals having more privilege than a complete female which is not true in any case. Shouldn’t this test takeinto account the various factors of “privilege” like the fact that there’s not just one country that’s good to live in, or that there’s a lot more privilege being a women in a western country rather than somewhere like Saudi Arabia. This test fails at being intersectional with kinds of actual privilege, and instead takes an elementary, western approach to what privilege is, marking certain things as less privilege without really knowing why.

I am a minority, born into homeless in the USA, single parent and was a child of immigrants.

After hard work, i did good for myself. I love capitalism and what it brings. My parents worked hard and got a little better. I followed their work ethics and now I am better than them. My child, is a great straight A student, so I believe my child will grow up to better than me.

If my parents didn't immigrate to the USA, 110% without a doubt, I would be in 3rd world poverty despite my efforts.

When my child is old enough, I plan to take my child to my ethic homeland to show him that the world is filled with suffering beyond comprehension but the USA is the best nation the world has ever seen. So much is offered in the USA, I am a proud American.

I'm no sjw, but people really need their eyes opened to how many more opportunities they receive based on their unchangeable identity aspects. Wow. Pretty racist to assume a poor white is as privileged as a rich black. Just look at it this way. Pick any demographic you consider underprivileged. Make them rich. The rich version is always more privileged because they are favored against superior candidates over all.

Also the gender scale needs rethinking. If you're not cis, then displaying gender nonconforming masc traits doesn't necessarily increase your privilege unless you're a fully passing trans man. Being seen as a failed woman is not privilege.

Many of the sliders seem to be broken. By far the most important factors (wealth & education) only moves the needle 4% each, and many of the other statuses that get you preferential treatment under the law, in education and HR departments like being female, gay, and of color seem to move the counter in the wrong direction. Interesting concept, terrible implementation.

So, a huge chunk is based on things you *can't* change-- skin color, age, able-bodiedness, gender, sexual preference, birthplace and first language. And this is supposed to be a balanced test? WTF?
